Straight to the Wall
When Luke and Belcam Le Canada won their first one star event, girlfriend and talented photographer Ash knew it was a special moment that needed to be commemorated in some way. “No one sees all the hard times, and the hard work put in behind the scenes, watching Canada and Luke perform at the top of their class is ultimately the most satisfying moments”. Beau-tiful Memories

The first time Phillipa saw Beau, a three year old child was standing underneath him, stroking his tummy with a broom!
"He didn't mind; that was his exceptional nature" his owner Phillipa explained. "He was a kind gentleman who was loved and trusted by all. An old soul who instinctively knew what you were thinking."
Beau was a strong, reliable and dependable hunter, just the type you want out on the hunt field. But sadly, he passed away before his time.

Capturing Bella's Lost Moments
Losing a special horse is one thing, but to lose two special sport horses within two years of each other when you are only 17 years old is a tough life lesson in horsemanship. We braided the horse's tails and transformed their shoes into Horsehair Horseshoe Mementoes. A surprise gift from Isabella's thoughtful Mother Lisa, to comfort her heartbroken daughter. Check out the beautiful photographs of the braided Horsehair Horseshoe Mementoes.

1913 Epsom Derby: Tragedy, Scandal, 100/1 odds and the Titanic

I recently borrowed a few equestrian items from a friend of mine for a photoshoot. Two of those items were trinket boxes, made from actual horse hooves (pictured below). It wasn’t until after the shoot that I noticed an inscription on the top of one of the hoof lids
“PAWKY” DAM OF “ABOYEUR” DERBY WINNER 1913.
I was intrigued, so I googled ‘Pawky’ and ‘Aboyeur’ and was astonished at what I discovered. It was no ordinary Derby that Aboyeur had won, but the infamous 1913 Epsom Derby in Britain.
The 1913 Derby had all the makings of a top grossing film with themes of tragedy, scandal, winning against all odds, British royalty and the Titanic thrown in for good measure.

Recollections in Retirement
Reaching retirement is a wonderful milestone, and one that Diana Sonerson chose to mark for her special dressage horse Southern Boy with a Framed Horseshoe Memento.
The original horseshoe had the nails firmly rusted in place.
